/ 24 years. I'm a Brazilian artist based in São Paulo, and from a very early age, I was involved with arts. My father spent his time taking pictures, watching documentaries, seeing decoration and architecture magazines, or trying to learn something new - when, for example, he learned to work with Photoshop before me. On the other hand, my mother has always been passionate about books and trips to exhibitions; most of the books I have were given by her. Always on vacations, we went for walks in various places. We met several artists' work; even today, whenever something catches her attention or arouses an idea in her, she writes it down in her notebook or says: Look, Debora!
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication - Broadcasting from Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco and currently, I'm pursuing a Master's Degree in Literature and Literary Criticism at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and I've been studying Fine Arts at the Panamerican School of Arts and Design too.
I had the opportunity to work with book layout at APIS Design Integrado, producing teaching materials, which led to my current job as a digital editor at Pearson Education do Brasil. I am part of Contação de Leitura, a social project developed together with my mother, Vanusa Lima, who presents the book as an object and material that awakens to “discover” it. In this project, I am responsible for the graphic and audiovisual part..

/ Between space and subject, my work goes through experiments. The CITY has a vital role in this journey. Urban buildings are elements of reconstruction, pieces that articulate with the human. The urban space becomes a body fused to the human body. Human and city are transformed into plastic and evoke signs and meanings beyond everyday utility. The individual in this city presents itself as a monument when integrating with these constructions. The plots of this individual's subjectivity are transferred as interventions in urban space, an inherent result of the coexistence of being and inhabited space. The languages' plasticity delivers connected and disconnected narratives that reveal the urban and the human plurality.
Experimentation around graphics and visual design is continuously incorporated into this journey. Photography, painting, and drawing are languages that go hand in hand with design and aesthetic construction. As for the book, the materiality present in the discourse of bodies: city and human beings also materialize in the book's body. An object capable of permeating its common state and enhancing its matter.
My sketchbooks are essential in the creative process. When I understand my work as an experimental path, everything is based on these records. I don't think about the final results; they are parts. Registration and work are carved and traveled as a cyclical path.
